John Goodman, who lost 200 pounds more than a decade ago, said he got lazy and let it all go during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I haven’t worked out, but I’m going to start a routine again this summer where I can do a few things, she told Rolling Stone last week.
I just let it all go just because I didn’t have the energy.
While the Righteous Gemstones actor, 70, has routines in place to support his weight loss and recovery from alcohol, he said they’ve fallen by the wayside following the pandemic.
He was just going out and walking the dogs he said about what he does to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I was boxing until [the pandemic] and I haven’t been able to since Covid because I’m lazy.
The comedian said he loved boxing even though he never got good enough to train.
No one will get hurt, but it’s just hitting the gloves and trying to learn. I’ve never gotten good enough where I would trust myself to train because once I get hit in the face, I don’t know if I wouldn’t miss it, he explained.
Goodman recently attended the 2023 Monte-Carlo Television Festival in Monaco, where she showcased her weight-loss transformation.
The Roseanne alum looked stylish at the event in a fitted navy jacket, which she paired with beige pants and a white shirt.
The veteran actor, who served as judging panel president at the festival, added a pop of color to his attire with a patterned yellow tie, sunglasses and brown loafers.
Goodman began his physical transformation in 2007 when he weighed around 400lbs.
In the old days, I’d take three months off, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack or whatever and go back to my old habits, she told ABC in 2017.
This time I wanted to do it slowly. Move, exercise. I’m getting to the age where I can’t afford to sit still anymore.
The former Saturday Night Live comedian, who has also been candid about his struggles with alcoholism, has given up drinking and hired a personal trainer to keep his exercise routine on track.
